You think it’s all up to you.
If you don’t perform well, you’ll be outta here.
So you put your best foot forward and begin.
Scared, anxious, working hard.
But then, midstream in your work, from the mouth of the judge, you hear orders: “Stop!” No more work. You’re safe already.
What?
You’ve been saved!
No performance required.
What do you feel now?
Shouldn’t it be far more than Casey Abrams felt when he received the special “judges’ save” on American Idol Thursday night?
Casey had just previously been voted off the show, but in one final ditch effort to impress the judges, he began his work, when...

I'm sitting here reading this post with my mouth hanging open. I never made that connection, but I wish I had. Now all I can say is "WOW"
WOW!! This had me in tears.
If only we realize how much our loving LORD has saved us.
Great post!
I watched this too. He was so gratful it moved me to tears....YES we all need to be so grateful for our salvation. Great post, Lisa.
AWESOME POST!!!!!! Love the point you made here. Praise God...
we are saved!
Oh my word! YES !!!
I cried watching this the other night and you totally pegged what I couldn't put into words. Thank you! If you don't mind I'm going to post a link on my blog.
I think Casey’s reaction resonated with a lot of us. The shock of loss so quickly followed with the unexpected surprise of grace. Grace is always a miracle, huh?
Great analogy! We must never be immune to His grace. We should be staggered...
So very thankful. Oh that I could show the world the depth of my thankfulness as Casey demonstrated. This post touched my heart.
Rejoicing in His resurrection,
Pamela
..great analogy. Yes yes and yes...so grateful that He is the final judge..that He gives second and third and fourth chances....and hangs on and never lets go. thanks for this Lisa...have an awesome day...
Lisa, Just like everyone else has said, "Wow, this is a wonderful analogy!" You are so great at seeing God in everyday moments! Thank you so much for sharing with us! I may link to you on my blog, too, if it's okay.
I don't like to admit this but I have never watched American Idol. But this is a great great analogy.
Blessings,
Ginger
