Delight in his works!

Like most of you, I’m delighting in the blooms and colors around the house this week.

And because Week 7 of God in the Yard is emphasizing Gone/Present, I’m thanking God extra for returning His presence in these colors that were gone during the cold winter.

Don’t you think God Himself delights in His spring works?
His Word gives us reason to believe so.

Here are five reasons I’ve read about (thanks, John Piper, in The Pleasures of God) and taken pictures of this week.

Enjoy Him!

1. His works reflect His glory

Psalm 19:1

2. His works give Him praisered plumPraise the LORD from the earth, you great sea creatures and all deeps,...mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars!
Psalm 148:7, 9

3. His works unveil His wisdomphloxO LORD, how manifold are your works! In wisdom have you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.
Psalm 104:24

4. His works show His powernandinaLift up your eyes on high and see: who created these? He who brings out their host by number, calling them all by name, by the greatness of his might, and because he is strong in power not one is missing.
Isaiah 40:26

5. His works point us beyond themselves to Himyoshino cherry...May the LORD rejoice in his works, who looks on the earth and it trembles...I will sing to the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have being.
Psalm 104:31-33

Spring is blooming here too and it is such clear evidence of God's handiwork all around. Love the pictures you shared and the verses you paired them with. All so inspiring!

These are the beautiful things that surround you?! How beautiful! I had much fun just looking at them. Yes, God must delight in His spring works. He created them in abundance. He must also enjoy watching us enjoy his blessings.

Love this post and the specific ways God's creation points back to Him.

Oh, I always love when you pair scripture and nature photos together!

My favorite is the purple phlox. I'm so glad God decided to make more than one species of flower!

I love all the pictures of flowers. We aren't QUITE there yet ourselves - but close. The sun is supposed to break through the clouds next week.

I think I particularly needed the reminder that his works unveil His wisdom. Right now I'm complaining about His timing and it's good to be reminded that He makes all things beautiful in HIS time and His ways are better than my own!

His creation truly does praise Him! Beautiful pictures. I can't hardly believe all those are blooming already in your area. I'm still wearing my winter coat and mittens and watching the spring snow fall. I can hardly wait for the spring color!

Creation does sing His glory! Wish I could hear those praises in the snow, though.....
