American Idol, Casey Abrams, & joy in salvation

You think it’s all up to you.
If you don’t perform well, you’ll be outta here.

So you put your best foot forward and begin.
Scared, anxious, working hard.

But then, midstream in your work, from the mouth of the judge, you hear orders: “Stop!” No more work. You’re safe already.

What?
You’ve been saved!

No performance required.
What do you feel now?

Shouldn’t it be far more than Casey Abrams felt when he received the special “judges’ save” on American Idol Thursday night?

Casey had just previously been voted off the show, but in one final ditch effort to impress the judges, he began his work, when...

Watch and see if this is akin to how grateful you are for your salvation:

If you’re a believer,
aren’t you grateful your judge has called in His SAVE vote for you?

I think Casey’s reaction resonated with a lot of us. The shock of loss so quickly followed with the unexpected surprise of grace. Grace is always a miracle, huh?

Great analogy! We must never be immune to His grace. We should be staggered...
