Today…in June

The Simple Woman's DaybookOutside my window...are too many spiders and their decorative arachnid-chic webs on my screen

I am thinking...about all the changes a year can bring

I am thankful...for a husband who can cook chicken and dumplings

From the learning rooms...I’m gathering books for Jenna’s junior year

In the kitchen...I’m hoping to find one more piece of pecan pie

I am wearing...my green Southern Belle t-shirt from Alicia and blue jean shorts and bare feet

I am creating...a mess in the dining room with stuff I keep bringing home from my parents’ house

I am resolving...(again) to take one day at a time, please Lord

I am reading...Sheet Music by Kevin Leman

I am hoping...that my mom will get out of the hospital soon

I am hearing...Jenna ask me, “How much are stamps nowadays?”

I am praying...for my sister’s preparations for taking in Mama

I am pondering these words...“Joy is not the absence of trouble, but the presence of Christ.”

A few plans for the rest of the week...trips to the hospital, a follow-up doctor’s appointment, Wednesday night singing, my daughter turning 21!

A picture I’m sharing...one of my two beautiful & godly nieces that graduated from college in May. Can’t wait to do lunch again soon, Danielle!college graduation

My daughter will be turning 21 the end of this year - don't they grow up fast? Hope you found that piece of pecan pie, mmm.

Enjoyed your daybook. Have a blessed week.

Enjoyed reading your daybook. Thanks for stopping by my site today. Happy you were able to get your mom's hair done. I know how impossible it can be to convince someone with dementia to do something they are convinced they don't need to do. May the Lord give you continued patience and love to meet her needs.

Blessings

I hope that your mother gets out of the hospital soon and that her care will not be too difficult after.

Have a wonderful week!

The quote that you posted is something to really think about. So often we think joy is just synonymous with happiness and it is far from that. It is walking with Jesus in every kind of situation and being yielding to His will.
I enjoyed reading your blog. Happy b-day to your 21 year old. Lovely times, indeed!
