“From the Inside Out” – Then Sings My Soul Saturdays

Then Sings My Soul Saturday This is the song I couldn’t get out of my head this week.

And the cry of my heart is to bring You praise
From the inside out, Lord, my soul cries out

It’s a “perfect storm” song for me. Truth-filled lyrics. Melodic harmonies. Honest emotions.

I can enjoy it with Hillsong (below), and as of last week, I can also enjoy it with my church family.

Our church version comes to us via Hallal, a singing ministry in Franklin, Tennessee, who wonderfully specializes in both creating new songs and adapting older songs specifically for a cappella singing. (Listen to a preview of Hallal singing From the Inside Out.)

From the Inside Out
Words & Music by Joel Houston

A thousand times I've failed
Still Your mercy remains
And should I stumble again
Still I'm caught in Your grace

Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame
My heart and my soul, I give You control
Consume me from the inside out, Lord
Let justice and praise become my embrace
To love You from the inside out

Your will, above all else, my purpose remains
The art of losing myself in bringing You praise

Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame
In my heart, in my soul, Lord, I give You control
Consume me from the inside out, Lord
Let justice and praise become my embrace
To love You from the inside out

Chorus 2x
Everlasting, Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending, Your glory goes beyond all fame
And the cry of my heart is to bring You praise
From the inside out Lord, my soul cries out

Funny - I've had this song stuck in my head all week too. You're so right about it being the 'perfect storm' kind of song. I especially love the lyrics... It's my new favorite song. :)

Blessings Lisa...I love Hillsong & "From the Inside Out" but Halla's version is much more soothing & prayerful...almost angelic. It definitely is my prayer that God would change me in this way. And He has to for it to be REAL!
It is the cry of my heart but ohhhh the process & pruning it takes...EnJOY a special weekend in the LORD & TSMSS! Thanks for you sweet words & visit!

ohhh PS...I don't know Gaithers all that well or their music but I keep being drawn into that music and videos from there...must be my age but I know you weren't referring to that! (lol) It just made me laugh when you mentioned your parents!

The art of losing myself, to bring HIm praise. I'm picking up a paintbrush today, or rather a nail.

Blessings to you from Costa Rica,
Sarah Dawn
