Outside my window...the first buttercups are blooming; high 58°, low 38°; sunshine
I am wondering...what Bible stories would most benefit the children of El Salvador and how we could best present those in a VBS
I am appreciating...the fascinating ways God designed the body to move, well, some bodies...such as...
I am thankful for...getting to watch Jenna dance this weekend and also getting to watch some pros do their thing (like Stephen “tWitch” Boss and Christopher “Lil’ C” Toler—amazing!)
In the kitchen...to each his own—I ate supper at The Mellow Mushroom with my lady friends
I am resolving...to plan less “to-do’s” in my day so I’ll feel accomplished at the end of the day instead of behind. Yes, I can do this, right???
I am wearing...blue jeans, Krispy Kreme sweatshirt, running shoes
I am creating...9th, 11th, 12th grade scrapbooks (now or never)
I am looking forward to...hearing my niece Amber sing with the Good News Singers this weekend
I am reading...two books that I’ve been looking forward to—Lit!: A Christian Guide to Reading Books and Jesus+Nothing=Everything
I am realizing...I need a darker bedroom at home because I don’t wake up as early in pitch-black hotel rooms
I am hearing...Matthew West’s album “The Story of Your Life” that I downloaded today for $5
I am studying...the widow whose son Jesus raised back to life, and what lessons are in it for teen girls
I am praying...for my friends Selwyn and Kay and the ladies they’re meeting with on Wednesday nights who have loved ones with addictions
I am pondering these words...from Seth Godin that stress is simply “what happens when you want to do two things at the same time.”
A few plans for this week...a meeting for parents and graduating seniors; a meeting for our New York trip; volunteering with my small group at a thrift store; talking with Rachel about El Salvador
A picture to share...when a new camera for Jenna and her big sister Morgan arrive in the same week, this Mom gets new photos of my beautiful daughters!

I would like to make it my goal to bring one smile today, too. Just something that simple :)

Thanks for reminding me about scrapbooks -- I wanted to have one ready for Jesse;s graduation.
I tend to divide my to-do list (whether mental or physical) into what HAS to get done today, and then everything else. :-) Then if I get to anything on the "everything else" side, I feel really good.

I'm not very far in Lit! yet, but I like what I've read so far. We'll have to compare notes when we're done.

I'm crazy about light in my bedroom. I have to unplug the clock radio in my bathroom before I go to bed each night because I see too much of its light shining into the bedroom. Then we got a new DVR in the bedroom which gave off another light, so Jeff put black tape over it. The things I do. Maybe I just need to keep my eyes closed tighter. ha.

I love waking up to a dark room but alas, the sun finds its way through the (closed) slats of my blinds. Poo : (
Interesting study you're doing on the widow...... Will you share?

For my class on the widow, I think the lesson will be that Jesus can be trusted to always resupply us with what we need after a loss (and eventually restore our joy as well). The widow had already lost her husband so losing her son was a double whammy for loss of support. Yet Jesus saw her and had compassion to give her back her son.
He does the same with us--obviously not through giving us back our dead loved ones (in this life anyway)--but always refilling our supplies to do whatever he wills us to do.
Now to make that applicable to teen girls. :-)
