Where is your peace?

Shalom-Number 6_26Don’t we all just want a few minutes of peace?

No bickering between the kids.
No stress with the husband.
No to-do list left undone in a clutter-free house.

So if peace is a fruit of the Spirit, why do I often feel I lose mine? And where did mine go last week when my computer died—the very week I was studying peace?

oh yes...agreeing with you here so much. thanks for a wonderful post. that peace is like a warm blanket that just floats down and wraps around, especially in the midst of conflict, I think, is when I feel its power the MOST, it warms, and calms, and gives the confidence that only God can give, that all is well and HE is TOTALLY in control of the situation, fully able to carry out His plan perfectly and it will all work for good...what a most amazing thought to have in troubled moments...a gift from above...so thankful to KNOW it and have felt it. Hugs to you LIsa!!! God bless..and Shalom!

Julie,
I know you've had to draw on this peace often, having a son in the Marines. It's one thing when I feel troubled about something I can control (or think I can!), but it's another altogether when it's something totally out of my control--like a child's situation. I admire your faith to turn things over to the Lord. You're a good example for me.

My niece's fiance just left Saturday morning for a year in Afghanistan. So young yet so willing. May the Lord bless all the mamas and wives and girlfriends of our brave men (and women) soldiers with much shalom!
