I’d been hearing about the babies all week. But I never expected to find them here.
It seems an unlikely place to plant a dream.
Mother Rabbit picked a spot in a yard with a dog, with only weeds as camouflage, and planted her bunnies. Here.
If her dream is that they live and they grow,
couldn’t she have found a more protected place than this?
A more nurturing environment?
Did she fail to read Chapter 14 in What to Expect When You’re Expecting?
When God plants a dream, it’s often in an unlikely place.
Jane would agree. She said God gave her a dream at 16 that she would preach to thousands. But in our church? It was never gonna happen. What was God thinking?
But at 22, Jane is now in India...preaching and teaching. Living the dream.
God isn’t dependent upon the unlikely places he plants our dreams.
He sees beyond what is: poorly camouflaged nests in the middle of front yards.
He sees what will be: life and growth.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD,
plans for welfare and not for evil,
to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11

Hooray for baby rabbits! I hope everybody makes it out of there alright.
I've been on a journey where I've got a sense of what God has called me to do, but the details always seem to be shifting. It's like I think I know how God is going to make a dream work out, then that door closes until a little while later another door opens. It has been a real test of faith!
NOT what Ed said. Baby rabbits like to eat gardens. (Although we've had those unexpected baby rabbit nests in the grass, too. What are their mothers thinking?)
God operates through all kinds of circumstances -- many, if not most, of which we humans would ignore as bad news. Good post, Lisa.

So cute! I've never seen a rabbit's nest before. I didn't know they made them out in the open like that. Morbid thought, but maybe that's a way of keeping the population from getting even more prolific than it is already? But I do hope they make it.

Oh and we had a bunny nest like that also in our front yard this year. The babies are so cute!
Planting dreams in unlikely places? That is just so God!
He asks us to imagine what is not possible for us, for if we could do it ourselves we would also claim the glory, prideful creatures that we are.
Big dreams that only He can accomplish take our ability out of the equation!
I grateful God plants dreams and helps them grow because I have trouble dreaming of the future.
