Post-tornado Friday’s Fave Five

On Day 3 with no electricity, but we are fine!

Thanks for all the prayers and concern. With the exception of a few big trees and a downed fence, we suffered no damage at our house.

But unfortunately, many in our area have lost loved ones and homes. The devastation is horrible. Please continue to pray for those who are grieving and cleaning up what’s left.

While I’m connected to the internet for a minute and as I juice up my laptop via the car (all precarious and temporary!), here’s a super quick Friday’s Fave Five because I do have much to be thankful for!

1. Safety of my immediate family
All my siblings and their families made it safe through the tornadoes.

2. Incredible neighbors
It’s been a blessing to spend more time with neighbors this week. We started out huddling together in our basement all day Wednesday as wave after wave of tornadoes swept through. We’ve since shared food and chain saws and laughter and more.

3. Jeff made it home!
Jeff was working out of town this week. He made it home last night around 11 p.m. Was I glad to see him!

4. Time to read
One advantage of no electricity is I’ve had more time to get back into books. It’s been nice.

5. God’s faithfulness
What a blessing to know that God is always watching out for us. And even when he chooses to bring us home, in whatever way he chooses, he will be with us. Incredible!

* * *

Sorry I won’t be able to visit around today! I pray you’ve all had a wonderful week too.

Here’s a link to pictures of some of the surrounding damage from the tornadoes.

Oh wow -- I am so sorry! I didn't realize you were in the path of the tornadoes. We had the threat of them, and that was tense enough -- I just can't imagine if they actually came. Those photos are so hard to look at. I am glad you are safe and your husband made it home safely.

The pictures in your link of the tornado damage were just unbelievable. So tragic. I'm very happy that you and your family were spared.

SO good to hear you're okay, Lisa. This reminds me of our hurricane days -- no power, enjoying books and quiet for a change, but chainsaws and generators. You have to be so glad your hubby is home!

Blessings as you be a blessing to those around you.

SO glad you are safe Lisa!!! Just read your twitter post and then came to your blog. I forgot you lived in the south. I bet it is so weird to have no electric. It's amazing how we get so used to it! Praying for you and your family.

I had nothing like the tornadoes from down south. But I did have one land and devastate just five miles from me last week. I didn’t know you lived “down there”. I am so glad you only got brushed by the storm – as I was. And all these blessings – much more than 5 I’m sure. God Bless and keep you and all of yours Lisa. I really hearted this post. Thank you. ♥✞ღ

Thank you for stopping by and commenting on my blog the other day. It's given me a chance to find your blog!! I'm so thankful y'all made it through the storms and NOW have electricity again. It sounded like you road it all out without your husband home? That must have been really scary! Take care.
