I’m not into collecting signatures, but I am into collecting scriptures.
Last night Jenna and I met MercyMe before their concert (thanks, Debbie and Macky). I knew I wanted a photo.
But since they were signing autographs, too, why not?
The only paper I had with me was my Philippians Memory (faux) Moleskine. I’m trying to memorize all of Philippians by Easter with Partnering to Remember so I carry my little notebook with me.
I told the guys about the notebook, and they signed the back page. This made me smile: two of their verses were from Philippians.
Isn’t God amazing how he speaks to us even in the details?
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
~ Philippians 4:8
That I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death.
~ Philippians 3:10
I was able to share a brief story with them how their music has worked in my life, especially last summer when my mom’s Alzheimer’s was picking up speed.
They later shared their stories with everybody through their songs.
The Word of God speaks in our lives.
How wonderful to share what we hear with each other!

What a precious picture, Lisa! Isn't Philippians a wonderful wonderful book! (Not really a question there, lol)
Love you!
Dianna
What a neat experience! And how great to encourage each other in God's words and ways.
What a great thing to have at the back of your book...especially when you've completed Philippians...to see their encouragement at the back. VERY COOL!
How fun!!
How cool was that?! Great birthday present for Jenna (and for you, too!)
Yes, it was a great birthday present for both of us. I’ve been amazed at how our God has infused the whole month of January with so many joyful moments. I definitely welcome the change from 2010! (Not that it didn’t have numerous joyful moments too – it did!). But the celebrations have come easier in 2011 so far…I praise him for his mercy.
Jeff and I didn’t get to sit together at the concert last night, so we texted throughout it. At one point he sent me this one word:
“Celebrate.”
So appropriate.
Oh I would have loved to have been sitting there. MercyMe and Casting Crowns are two of my favorite. And to get to meet them-- unbelievable.
You look like two kids standing there.
THAT is pretty cool.
I loved "attending" the concert with you, Lisa!
How great to have this photo as a tangible reminder of the evening and all the memoires in your heart of the joy that was poured out upon you and Jenna and Jeff and all who were in attendance.
Thanks for the posting!
Lynn,
Yes! I had such fun being able to communicate with you during the concert. I told Jeff about it afterwards. Technology can be a wonderful tool. How would I have ever even “met” you otherwise? :-)
