“He Is”

SATURDAY OF THE SECOND WEEK OF ADVENT

Do you think Christ first came on the scene when he was born in the manger in Bethlehem?

Not true. We read of his presence even in the very first book of the Bible.

Last Saturday my friends and I were blessed when our friend Stuart sang “He Isreminding us of our Lord’s presence in all sixty-six books of the Bible. He had put together an amazing video to go with it, letting us not only hear but also see all the amazing ways Jesus is revealed in scripture.

The video below is not Stuart’s, but it is one that shows scripture references for each name being sung about.

It’s a beautiful song about our incredible God. Enjoy!

He's the alpha and omega
Our God and our Savior
He is Jesus Christ the Lord
And when time is no more
He is, HE IS!

Yes and amen; He is Lord of both Old and New!

I am so excited about Nancy Guthrie's new book Discovering Jesus in the Old Testament, which is a one year devotional of, you guessed it, seeing Jesus in the Old Testament. I plan to begin in January!

The Nancy Guthrie devotional sounds great. I hope you'll be posting about it as you read. You've quietly coerced me into buying more than one book that way. :-)

I've loved seeing your family "grow up" in the last couple of days on your blog. Enjoy having all your boys still at home.

Why am I allowing myself to feel so overwhelmed when I serve a God that is all of these things and more?

Lisa,
Thank you so much for sharing this. I LOVE teaching our children about the BIG PICTURE of the Word. They see Jesus from the beginning, and it is wonderful. I wish I had been taught this as a child instead of always focusing on the New Testament and not seeing it as one story.
