In remembrance I worship

Jesus and cupMy church celebrates the Lord’s Supper each Sunday morning.

It’s meant to be a special time of remembrance.

Sometimes it is for me; sometimes it’s not.

It depends on my attentiveness, my desire, my heart.
Am I listening?
Am I allowing myself to be drawn to Him?
Am I aware?

But it’s been 4 weeks since I’ve broken bread with my church family.

I look forward to breaking the unplanned fast this Sunday. To verbalize the music; to echo the prayers; to taste the bread on my tongue; to feel the vine’s juice trickle down my throat; to be penetrated by the Word.

To remember.
What He did for us. What He’s doing in us. What He’s going to do with us.

In remembrance I worship.

If you have 3 minutes, read and meditate on these words of Jesus Christ as Matt Maher sings.Remembrance by Matt Maher

Remembrance (Communion Song)
by Matt Maher

Oh how could it be
That my God would welcome me into this mystery
Say take this bread take this wine
Now the simple made divine for any to receive

CHORUS: By Your mercy we come to Your table
By Your grace You are making us faithful
Lord we remember You
And remembrance leads us to worship
And as we worship You
Our worship leads to communion
We respond to Your invitation we remember You

See His body His blood
Know that He has overcome every trial we will face
None too lost to be saved
None too broken or ashamed all are welcome in this place

CHORUS

Dying You destroyed our death
Rising You restored our life
Lord Jesus come in glory

Lord Jesus come in glory

CHORUS

Excellent post! His body and blood are freely given; do this or the forgiveness of sins.

I'm glad Jesus instituted this remembrance of his body and blood. Taking communion has always been very special to me. The video is great. I will admit I was a little distracted by reading the comments people had made under the video. Most people just don't understand. They don't have a clue. So sad.
Blessings,
Charlotte

"What wonderful majesty! What stupendous condescension! O sublime humility! That the Lord of the whole universe, God and the Son of God, should humble Himself like this under the form of a little bread, for our salvation"

"...In this world I cannot see the Most High Son of God with my own eyes, except for His Most Holy Body and Blood."

- St. Francis of Assisi
