This isn’t your grandma’s hymn.
The thoughts are the same. The lyrics are the same.
But Kutless sings it a little, well, differently.
So they caught my attention anew with it just when I needed it.
When I think my biggest problem is my circumstance or my overpacked schedule or my aching back, I need to remind myself—NO!
My biggest problem is my sin.
And that problem has been taken care of by Jesus’s blood.
So I can say and sing with confidence, like my grandma did (but slightly different), it is well with my soul.
You, too?

It Is Well
Kutless
LYRICS
When peace like a river attendeth my way
When sorrows like sea billows roll
Whatever my lot thou hast taught me to say
It is well, it is well with my soul
My sin, oh the bliss of this glorious thought
My sin not in part but the whole
Is nailed to the cross and I bear it no more
Praise the lord, praise the Lord, O my soul
And Lord haste the day when my faith shall be sight
The clouds be rolled back as a scroll
The trump shall resound and the Lord shall descend
Even so it is well with my soul
It is well with my soul
It is well with my soul

I'm so glad you posted this more contemporary version of this song. I love the lyrics as they have such meaning to me. I enjoyed this version too.
Blessings and love,
Debbie
One of my favorite hymns. I usually don't care for jazzed up versions of songs like this, but this one was really good.
I love this song, and the CD that it is from is fantastic too! Thanks for posting!
this is one of my very favorite hymns as well.
I cannot believe I am saying this...I really, really enjoy Kutless - they are one of my all time favorites groups....but, I don't like this version one. little.bit. Sorry! Here is my all time favorite version...

When I first heard this I really wasn't sure if I would like it, but was going to stay open-minded. Don't get me wrong, I love Kutless, but this is one of my favorite hymns because I can remember hearing my dad and "Ms. Yvonne" sing it at church.
I have decided that I love it. If it had been anyone else but Kutless, I don't think it would have made the grade with me, but yep, I love it!
LOVE LOVE Kutless!!!
This rocks! It helps that I don't know hymns very well, so I'm not as influenced by the standard variations. I can see this version on my ipod, helping me power through 4 miles on the running trail!
Thanks!
