Who blesses Him? We do. Psalm 103 (Memory Monday)

Learned last week:
19  The LORD has established his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom rules over all.
20  Bless the LORD, O you his angels, you mighty ones who do his word, obeying the voice of his word!
21  Bless the LORD, all his hosts, his ministers, who do his will!
22  Bless the LORD, all his works, in all places of his dominion.
Bless the LORD, O my soul!
Psalm 103:19-22

 There are four in a row:

Bless the LORD, O you his angels
Bless the LORD, all his hosts
Bless the LORD, all his works

The last one?
It's for me. For you.

Bless the LORD, O my soul!

But wait a minute. I thought HE is the one who gives the blessings (James 1:17).

After all, I read that he blesses those he chooses (Psalm 65:4). And,

Blessed are those he invites (Rev 19:9).
Blessed are those who know Christ (Matt 16:16-17).
Blessed are those who walk in his ways (Psalm 89:15).
Blessed are those who live by faith (Galatians 3:9).
Blessed are those whose sins are forgiven (Romans 4:7).
Blessed are those he disciplines (Psalm 94:12).
Blessed are those who trust in him (Jeremiah 17:7).
Blessed are those who delight in his commandments (Psalm 112:1).
Blessed are those who wait for him (Isaiah 30:18).
Blessed are those who don't walk with the wicked (Psalm 1:1).
Blessed are those who stand against temptation (James 1:12).

Not to mention the most familiar: the beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5:3-11).

It goes on and on, those who are blessed by the Lord…

So how do those bless him?
What does it mean for me to bless him?

“Bless” in Psalm 103 in Hebrew is barak, meaning to bless, to kneel (as an act of adoration). Like Abraham did. “He bowed his head, worshiped the Lord and blessed the Lord” Genesis 24:48.

To bless the Lord, we bow to him, we speak well of him, we praise him, we’re grateful to him. And more.

The angels do it. His ministers do it. His works do it.

And I do it.
