Don’t be a wimpy Christian

Read all of Luke 21 here     But before all this they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons, and you will be brought before kings and governors for my name's sake.
This will be your opportunity to bear witness.

Luke 21:12-13

I want opportunities to share about Christ. To tell of his love. To let others know how wonderful it is to be in him.

Jesus was telling his disciples in this passage they would have those opportunities, a chance to get out there and let the evidence be seen.

persecuted church But, oh my. At what a price.

Do I really want that?

I know I don’t want to be arrested and tried before rulers and put in prison. And thankfully, I haven’t had to be, in order to bear witness.

But if that was my opportunity in front of me, would I take it?
Is Christ worth that much to me?

I pray my answer would be yes, without even thinking about it. But, honestly, I’d rather not think about those kinds of “opportunities” at all.

I know that millions have been and continue to be faced with those opportunities though. Every minute of every day. Right this second. I want to turn my face away from it. But I can’t. I shouldn’t. I won’t.

Lord,
Help me not to be a wimpy Christian.
Strengthen me with the attitude that you are worth it all.
Life is
nothing without you. Life is everything with you.

Your title grabbed my attention Lisa. I too don't want to be a wimpy Christian. I pray for opportunities to share His love with others. Sometimes the hardest ones to share with are the people closest to us who don't have a personal relationship with Jesus. I've found it best to live out a life of love in Christ in front of them works best. They can't help but notice.

Blessings and love,
Debbie

As I read this I could not help but think of the people in San Francisco Federal court who are testifying to protect the sanctity of marriage. I pray for them every.single.day. I know what they are doing is of utmost importance in our society. Lets continue to pray that they keep the cameras out of the courtroom to protect them.

Debbie,
I agree that sometimes it is hardest to share with those closest. I continue to pray for your situation. I know you're living the life and hopefully one day your special one will respond to Christ because of the light you faithfully shine for him!

Brenda,
Thanks for sharing that prayer request. I'm lifting up a prayer right now for what's going on there...
