Romans 8:28,32 “We know” – Memory Monday

More Memory Monday

It’s Memory Monday. What are you memorizing this week? Add a comment about it at The Simple Wife.

Learned last week:
     And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
     . . .
He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
Romans 8:28, 32

Most Christians have come to love Romans 8:28. Especially when things aren’t going so good. In those times, we search deep for meaning behind the madness. Sometimes we find it; many times we don’t.

But either way, we can rest assured that purpose is there. If we’re following God’s will, he is working things out. For his glory and for our good.

That’s why verse 28 and 32 make a great pair to memorize together. God’s gift of his Son (v 32) explains why we can believe verse 28. God has held back no gifts from us. So he can be counted on in our present and future, just like he has been faithful to give us all we need in our past.

This we can know.

Learning this week:
     But this I call to mind, and therefore I have hope:
     The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end;
     they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
     "The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "therefore I will hope in him."
Lamentations 3:21-24
