We’ve in the Windy City a few days for a belated anniversary trip. So here are 5 things I’m thankful for about traveling.
To see what others are thankful for, click over to Susanne’s place at Living to Tell the Story.
1. Eating out
I admit it. This is a big draw for me. I don’t particularly enjoy cooking. But I do particularly enjoy eating. Bingo.
2. No chores
I see no dirty dishes. No piles of laundry. No ungraded papers. So I also see no guilt for not doing those things.
3. New everything
I love to go new places with Jeff. Yesterday we took a mini-cruise on the Chicago River and Lake Michigan and marveled at the sights (and prices of parking downtown, oh my).
4. Still connected
For better or for worse, I’m thankful for wi-fi when I travel. If I can’t get it, so be it. But if I can, I’ll use it. And I love it.
5. Doing nothing
I have a few lazy bones. And I don’t mind stretching them, given the right opportunity. We try to build in “nothing” times when we travel because sometimes doing nothing is as much fun as doing anything else!

Great Five Lisa.
I love eating out to whenever we travel. No chores, and seeing new places oh how wonderful. And to do all that with your best friend - priceless.
Happy Friday.
I love your faves! I'm so like you on no. 1; worse on no. 2 as I hate doing the dishes I don't even feel guilty if I couldn't do them for a day, I'd rather do the laundry. It's great that you get to do nothing and have new everything :)
Great post. I totally love eating out. It's hard on the budget, but soooo nice for me!
The idea of doing nothing sounds great, but I don't know if I could put it into practice ... I must at least READ if nothing else!
I hope your anniversary trip was everything you hoped it would be.
Very nice photos of you and that cool shot of the buildings in reflection. And I'm with you on wi-fi. Someday, we're going to look back and roll our eyes at the days when there were actually places we couldn't get online!
Those are some of the best things about traveling!! When we got back home after being away for my son's wedding and being in a hotel for several days, I really missed having someone else make the beds and pick up the wet towels. I love eating out, too, and it was nice to do so several times then.
There are so many fun things to do in Chi town. I am glad you and your hubby are able to get away for a few days. :)
Glad you are enjoying stretching those lazy bones. sounds like a great trip. And I am like you, I love to eat out, no dishes, don't have to prepare, just enjoy!
Enjoy your time with your hubby!
I particularly love eating out too. Add the no chores and stretching lazy bones and I say a perfect weekend!
Ohhhhh... YOU had the kind of week I LOVE!!! I agree with you on #'s 1, 2, 3, 4 and oh yea... 5!!! :) You're blessed!
Did you post this while you were still traveling or when you got back? Next time I'm in Huntsville I need to stop by your place and see how you do all this stuff. My blog is so very plain compared to yours. And I'm taking an instructional technology class (40 out of 40 on my first assignment, btw) so I should know or at least be learning this stuff. But my blog is better than all but one or two others in the class, so I'm not quite scraping the bottom of the barrel.
G - I posted it from Chicago. Yeah, stop by sometimes and we'll compare notes. You're probably learning "real" stuff in class; all I know is a few tricks and how to use a few tools.
