John 14 – Memory Monday

More Memory Monday

It’s Memory Monday (see more verses at The Simple Wife).

Learned last week:
In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.
John 14:2-3

As I count mashed potatoes and fried chicken as comfort foods, I count these as comfort verses.

I like thinking about God making space for me in the equivalent of a big ol’ farm house with a wrap-around porch, like Grandma and Granddaddy’s old house in Mississippi. Inside is an abundance of good eats, and outside is acre after acre of open space. Wrap around porch

Yet sweeter than that thought is the thought of having a more perceptible access to Jesus. I know he is with me now. But I know he will be with me then in an even fuller way.

Will learn this week:
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.
John 15:5

Love that idea of "comfort verses"! And that porch? Well, all I can say is that I'm ready to grab my cup of coffee and sit in that chair for a spell!

I love that porch scene, too. I wish I had a picture of my grandparents' porch; I don't think the house is even there anymore. There's just something special about sitting with God on a porch swing on a slow afternoon...

I love that porch scene too! I agree with Joanne - I'm ready to grab a cup of coffee and sit in that chair too!

I love how you gave us a mental picture for those comfort verses!

Hope you have a great week!
