While Jesus’ followers [disciples] were gathering in Galilee, he said to them, “The Son of Man will be handed over [surrendered, yielded up, betrayed, delivered over] to people [human hands], and they will kill him. But on the third day he will be raised from the dead.” And the followers were filled with sadness [greatly distressed].
Matthew 17:22-23
So does that mean he wasn’t in man’s hands at that point, but in God’s hands? Yes.
But God was about to surrender his son (purposefully) to the enemy, to ultimately save both his son AND any enemy.
Ah, the master plan revealed. Plain. Powerful. Perfect.
He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
