“Live to Lose” – Then Sings My Soul Saturday

Then Sings My Soul Saturday If this isn’t THE favorite song for me on Aaron Shust’s new album Take Over, it’s in the top two.

Simple. Sweet. Focused.

I liked it since the first time I heard it, but since my “be the garbage man” attitude hit, I see its relevance even more. Cleaning out the clutter in both my physical and spiritual life means I learn to live to lose.

But I can’t use it authentically in the past tense yet. I haven’t “learned” it; I’m still “learning.” It’s a goal (Philippians 3:12-14).

“Jesus, You’re the One.
You’re the only One for me.”

Enough said.

Live to Lose
Aaron Shust

LYRICS

Take my life, take it all
I lay it at Your throne
I am rich, satisfied,
When I am Yours alone

CHORUS
I have learned to live to lose
I have found my all in You
And I count it all as loss it’s true
'Cause I have learned to live to lose

Precious One, crucified
Died to set me free
I hold nothing back from You
Who gave it all for me

CHORUS

Jesus You're the One, You're the only One for me
Jesus You're the One, You're the only One for me
Jesus You're the One, You're the only One for me
Jesus You're the One, You're the only One for me

CHORUS

Such a simple melody and yet such a powerful message. I am also learning what it is to live to lose. It goes so opposite to what our natural selves want to do. But as I grow in my relationship with the Lord, I realize it's well worth it ...to live to lose.

Thank you for posting another new song for me. I love these Saturday mornings of blog hopping and worship.

I hadn't run across "Then Sings My Soul" Saturdays till I found your blog, Lisa. I may have to jump on the bandwagon one of these days. I totally get into this.

Love Aaron Shust. Hadn't heard this one yet. Right now, my favorite of his is "To God Alone."

Debbie: yes, it does go against our nature to let go of what we can see and touch, to grab something better that is unseen but real.

Karen: if you're into music (which I keep getting hints that you definitely are!) you would enjoy this meme. I hear so many great songs this way that I wouldn't otherwise.

I love "To God Alone" too. It has that classic Aaron Shust sound to it. Great worship song.

Blessings Lisa...Such a beautiful, soothing morning song from Aaron...and he promoted it in his pjs from his own YouTube site...WOW!

I think throughout our life it's a process, to live to loose. It's when we lay it all down, surrender each portion as we decide that Jesus, is the only One and when we live to loose, we will give as He did and does to even the unloveable & give until it hurts. It's a lot to learn but it is so worth it...let HIM take it all!

Thanks for sharing more from your new CD! EnJOY TSMSS & have a blessed weekend! Thanks for your sweet visit! (There are others who sing or have sung "Find Your Wings" but I like Mark Harris' voice)! God bless you!
