Proverbs 31:26
“She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.”
This one would be nice. I’d like to have it said about me.
I wish whenever I loosened my tongue, jewels of insightful wisdom would fall gently out. (I laugh even at myself.) I’m obviously not there.
I got the call again yesterday from my daughter in college. More questions about dealing with men. For whatever reason (because I’m the mother?), she looks to me for wisdom to guide her in the minefield of male/female relationships.
I’m honored, but challenged by it at the same time. What if my answers aren’t right? What if I give bad advice? What if...?
I did suggest kindness. That’s always the right place to start. Because her problems weren’t big (to me), all she needed was a little nudge in a balanced direction. And kindness fit right in.
I’ll keep asking my Parent for wisdom, too. Not just for me, but for a deep well to supply others. I’ll pray. I’ll listen. I’ll learn from older (and younger) wiser friends.
And I hope I’ll keep teaching kindness...with kindness. There’s a lot of wisdom in Proverbs. I think I need a few more rounds of 31 days in it...

Thanks be to God, He promises wisdom to those who ask! As a mom, that is one promise I claim over and over and over and over and...
I too long to be a woman who opens her mouth with wisdom and the teaching of kindness!
