John 1:46
Nathanael said to him, "Can anything good come out of Nazareth?" Philip said to him, "Come and see."
I love this invitation on my first day back reading through the New Testament.
“Come and see.” That’s precisely what I want to do.
I also love that John starts off so strongly with “light.” I’ve been keenly aware the past several months of so many references to “light” and “vision” and “seeing.” Jesus is the common denominator of them all.
Come... Be present. Be active. Be looking for Him.
and see... Discover. Notice. Pay attention.
The invitation is there. R.S.V.P.—eyes wide open.
John 1:4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men.
1:5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
