New Bible memory challenge: It’s coming

The quick details

Text: 1 Peter 1:1-25 (whole chapter)
Start: August 19, Sunday
Finish: November 17, Saturday
Suggested pace: ~2 verses a week

At Do Not Depart we’re announcing our new Bible memory challenge for the fall:

It will complement a new Bible study on “Unshakeable Faith” also beginning at Do Not Depart in the fall.

Here’s what to do:

Pray about your possible participation as you read over 1 Peter 1.
Register next Wednesday, August 8, if you’d like to join in.
Consider writing a blog post, FB status, or tweet (#HideHisWord) about scripture memorization, inviting others to walk alongside us.
Then link your blog post at Do Not Depart on Monday, August 6, to encourage others.
Join our active Facebook group for extra support.

I memorized bible verses before, but now I read bible verses and ask God what he says to me fromt hat verse. But I do believe that memorizing them is better so that we can have them in our heart and mind when we needed it. Maybe if i read that chapter every day, I can memorize it:) I did that before with Psalm 23 and 91. Good luck to all of you who will join Thanks also for visiting my blog. Really appreciate it.

Reading to hear what God is saying to us is wonderful, Joy. Oh, that more of us would read that way! Sometimes when I read I think of *somebody else* instead of what God is saying to ME.

Your method of memorization does work and is a great one! :) On many levels. Thanks for your encouragement.
