Sticky note advice

We’re a sticky note family.

So when each family was told they’d have two minutes at graduation last Saturday to present their child’s diploma and say a few words, Jeff thought of our sticky notes.

Because how can you sum up thirteen years of homeschooling in two minutes?

You can’t.

So we look forward.

And tacked three sticky notes of advice for the future on Jenna’s diploma.

1. Prioritize your relationship with Jesus above all else.

2. Learn well so you can love others well.

3. Call Mom and Dad! :-) We love you!

…One thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Love the idea that you looked ahead rather than behind! And I love the three sticky notes you've given Jenna. She is absolutely radiant and I know how proud of her you must be, Lisa. Congratulations to the graduate!

Yes, she was radiant, Dianna. She almost made me cry though when she teared up as Jeff was talking about our sticky notes. I *think* she may actually miss us some too in the fall. ;-) (although not as much as we'll miss her...such is the cycle of life)

I’ve had you on my mind and prayers a lot lately as you were making decisions. Glad you are content with them! You’re an inspiration.

It was a wonderful graduation ceremony. We got to hear each set of parents share something with their child, so we all received great advice. And now we (the parents) are old enough to take it. :-)

lisa...I too have one graduating...I love the notes...that is all the advice they need...you daughter is beautiful and very happy indeed...blessings as you transition this summer...is that auburn sticky notes I see?

Absolutely! We buy them at Costco. Allen keeps his lists digitally, but I'm old school. Sticky notes and the backs of receipts. :) I love that you did that for Jenna. Congratulations to her and grace to all of you in this transition.

I wrote a post a few years back on our sticky notes. Words carry a huge amount of weight in our lives. Once when my wife thought everyone in the house was being to hard with one another she wrote a note with a verse from Proverbs about being kind and gentle with one another. We had the 10 commandments on our frig for years.

Those sticky notes you gave Jenna will be the best present of her graduation. Those are gifts to all of us... Thanks. And Congratulations to Jenna and mom and dad!

What wonderful advice :). I love that beautiful picture of you and your girl, Mom. Gorgeous! I think I need to get me a batch of sticky notes. I can think of a few good bits of advice I'd like to stick to a couple boys!

I don't know if I could make it through each day without my sticky notes. . .middle age brain becoming foggy more and more ;) And then there are those sticky notes every once in awhile from son or husband just telling me something silly or that they love me :) The sticky note invention was great, wasn't it?!

Congratulations! Sticky Notes blessings are awesome! A friend of mine kept her prayer list on sticky notes in her bathroom to pray for people as she got ready each day!
