The Gospel—it is Good News!—isn’t meant to sit passively inside us. The Word is alive and active (Hebrews 4:12). What God gives to us He wants us to share with others, not hoard for ourselves.

Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.

That's an interesting new way to look at Hebrews 13 for me. Thank you. I will ponder that...

Have a great week, Lisa.

I assume the most direct application of “sharing what you have” would be about material possessions, but if we consider the principle itself, I think it could be expanded to mean all kinds of things, tangible and otherwise.  When I think of all the things I’ve been given from the Lord, I could feel rather guilty about how much hoarding I do….  Thankful for his grace.

Hope you have a great week, too, Jennifer.
