Ask Him, “What is it?”

TUESDAY OF THE FIRST WEEK OF ADVENT

What is it?

If you’ve been around a young child longer than five minutes, you’ve heard this question. Over and over. It’s one way they learn about the world around them.

Do you still have that childlike curiosity? Have you asked God today, “What is it?” that he has you seeing or experiencing?

We should lose any self-reliance we have and turn to God at every moment of our lives to make sure that we understand “what it is” that we are encountering at the present moment.

So do it.
Ask him now, “What is it?”
You may be surprised at how he answers.

No one should ever lose their child-like attributes of wonder. It seems some grow old both inside and out, sniffing at those who have retained that childlike wonder. It makes me want to ask them, "Who hurt you?"
