Fortunately for those of us who have been given much and are thus responsible for much, there is much grace.
How much?
More than we imagine.
~ Andy Stanley
The Grace of God I’ve known about Jesus for a long time.
And the more I knew about Him, the more I loved Him.
And the more I loved Him, the more I understood I needed to love others.
But the more I tried to love others, the more I failed. I’m still not very good at it. And I often feel guilty about that. I know I’ve been given much; I know much is required (Luke 12:48).
So when I read Andy Stanley’s words above, they hit home. Included in my “given much” is much grace. I knew that, but I needed to hear it anyway, to hear how God’s grace covers this scenario, too.
The Lord is like that. He covers much sin. How much? More than we can imagine.
No wonder we call Him amazing (Revelation 15:3).

Do you find it amazing that God’s grace covers all your sin, too?

This is truly a comforting thought. Much grace. Amazing :)
This is lovely.
I think it's easy to start counting up a forgiveness tally a la Peter--okay, God's forgiven me 27 times for this particular sin... But rather than using that as an opportunity to praise God for His limitless grace (and to request His grace to overcome my sin), I find myself acting as though God's grace is sure to run out soon. My mentality becomes "Okay Rebekah, time to work hard, time to overcome this sin. After all, who's to say God's grace will extend to 28?"
Oh that I would live daily not only under His grace, but by His grace as well.
I can tend to feel weighed down and pressured by the responsibilities and need frequent reminders of the grace available. Thank you for reminding me again!
Oh, how I needed this today!! I have really been feeling convicted at how far short I fall....so glad for his amazing grace.
Right to the point... Amazing Grace! (You're blessed to have believing parents!)
Great thoughts, and as a second-generation Christian, I can relate to your feelings.
Beautiful thoughts! I, too, am so thankful for much grace!
