We know Apple promises us, “There’s an app for that.” Whatever we want—directions, language translation, calorie counts, iBooks, movie tickets, word games—it begs to gratify.
But we know better. Don’t we?
Apple can’t touch our deepest appetites—For our lives to have significance. For satisfying relationships. For a mission more meaningful than me.
Whatever we need—direction, understanding, peace, service, joy—it’s God who has a grace for that. He’s able to satisfy (2 Corinthians 9:8).
- Need help with a problem child? There’s a grace for that.
- Stuck in an unsatisfying job? There’s a grace for that.
- Can’t break an addictive habit? There’s a grace for that, too.
Whatever it, God has the power to either change the circumstance or change the other person or change us (Hebrews 4:16). That’s His grace.
A year ago, would we have imagined the journey we’ve been traveling? Would we have thought it too much, if we had foreseen each roadblock?
Yet each step of our way, often only one step at a time, God has left us a gift—a gift of His grace—at the right place, the right time, through the right person, the right word.
Grace is what He’s promised, down to the very last verse in the Bible.
“The grace of the Lord Jesus be with God’s people. Amen” (Revelation 22:21 NIV).
And grace is what He delivers.
“From his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.”
John 1:16

I wholeheartedly agree with you Lisa. One step at a time. I'm amazed how the Lord provides just what we need and when we needed. He's never late in providing us with the grace to get through.
Hugs and love,
Debbie
This is an AWESOME post! I loved it. I needed a big dose of that grace today and God was there. Praise His Name!
This is enlightening Lisa...Gracia Burnham, in her book, "To Fly Again" shares a quote/petition that I use often...."Grace me again, Lord." And He does. He does. Blessings....
yep... one step at a time... just enough grace to carry us through that particular moment... <3
I was about to say "Good application" before remembering the first part was about iPhone apps. LOL! But this IS as good application of truth.
Well said. I'm going to use the phrase "There's an App for that" when I tell my teen kids that GOD is the one who has an app for everything.
Come over from Spiritual Sunday.

I've awarded you the One Lovely Blog award. Here's the link: http://mytrampolinelife.blogspot.com/2010/09/one-lovely-blog-award.html. Thanks for your blog. I enjoy reading it.
I like how you paralleled everything. Wonderful job and excellent reminder that God's grace is all we need. :)
God's grace is definitely a gift. So is a nice new iguana or other creature. God made all creatures, great and small. (Just something to think about).
<>< (A fish is also a creature).
What a timely ~ and reassuring ~ message! Can't we all relate?!
Have a wonderfully satisfying weekend!
I love the way you wrote this. Love that Hebrews verse.

Great post, Lisa. God is never late (sometimes we think He will be). I needed to hear this today.
Blessings,
Joan
What a good illustration. Apple can provide a lot of good stuff. I love my iMac, but it can't begin to compare with what God has provided. Thank you for this reminder.
Blessings,
Charlotte

That is so cute, and I love your scripture verses. Thank you, Lisa.

Thanks so much for this. I am guilty of looking to Apple to solve my life problems and not looking to God. Thank you for reminding me that Not only is there a Grace for that, it's Free every day. :)
