Curios - 18

curios_online1. Slow down or you’ll ruin it
What is your biggest obstacle to being “present” in each moment? It’s not speed; it’s your love of speed.

So says Scot McKnight at Jesus Creed.

2. Read more than one book
“Only one book is absolutely essential to save us, to equip us to obey God’s will, and to glorify Him in whatever we do. ... And yet the irony is that if we use only this book, we may in fact be in disobedience to it.”

Read more here by Justin Taylor.

3. Listen to new music
Why aren’t there more worship songs about our loving adoption into God’s family? Bob Kauflin is doing his part to change it by releasing a new CD on August 5, “Sons & Daughters.”

Listen to samples from 12 new songs, written primarily for congregational worship, focusing on 1 John 3:1.

“See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.”

4. Buying organic? Wasting your money?
Do you spend extra money buying organic food because you think it’s better for you? (Or you don’t, but feel guilty about it?)

Then you might want to check this out:
“Organic food is no healthier than ordinary food, a large independent review has concluded.”

5. Did you know 2.0?
Karl Fisch’s original video of how fast things are changing came out in August 2006. This remix version of “Shift Happens” came out about a year later. If you still haven’t seen either version, it’s time to watch.

Good stuff Lisa! BTW, I always enjoy Bob Kauflin's music, he often plays at my brother's church. I love his heart. Glad to hear he has a new CD coming out. And the Shift Happens is a gem, I have seen it before.
