The Love Dare by Stephen and Alex Kendrick
Love is not a feeling. It’s a consciously-chosen, deliberately-decided series of actions that we opt to make each day. Our feelings may ride us wildly up and down throughout the course of a day, but our decisions and commitments and covenants keep us grounded.
That’s how God loves. Intentionally. Purposefully. With thought. Not because of who or how the recipients are, but because of who He is and what He has decided to do.
That’s how I want to love. Because it’s who I am, or rather, who I want to be.
Lord, guide me each day to decide to love. To think about it and do it, with awareness and resolve. Thank you for loving me like that.
