2 Kings 6:33
And while he was still speaking with them, the messenger came down to him and said, "This trouble is from the LORD! Why should I wait for the LORD any longer?"
We’re not usually so blatant about it, but we commit the same sin—we stop waiting on the Lord. He seems so slow at times. We give up hope that he will change things. So we take it into our own hands. And proceed to make a new, bigger mess, then have to call on the Lord again, and wait on him again, and begin the cycle anew.
Lord, help us fight the sin of doubt, the sin of giving up on you. May we wait patiently, with eager expectation, that in your timing, all will be made right. You’re never too early and never too late.
The LORD is good to those who wait for him,
to the soul who seeks him.
