Whose door is He knocking on first?

21:7, 8 "And Jezebel his wife said to him, 'Do you now govern Israel? Arise and eat bread and let your heart be cheerful; I will give you the vineyard of Naboth the Jezreelite.'

So she wrote letters in Ahab's name and sealed them with his seal, and she sent the letters to the elders and the leaders who lived with Naboth in his city.

21:17, 18 Then the word of the LORD came to Elijah the Tishbite, saying,
'Arise, go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, who is in Samaria....'"

Is this a pattern of how God deals with husbands and wives?

King Ahab wanted Naboth's vineyard and couldn't get it, so he went home and pouted. Queen Jezebel said, "No problem! I'll handle it." And Ahab let her.

She plotted, made a plan, and had it executed in Ahab's name.

But when God came calling, who did he go to first? Not Jezebel...he went to Ahab and held him responsible. (Jezebel did get her due later). I remember the same with Adam and Eve...Eve sinned first, but God held Adam accountable first.

What's the lesson here? Be grateful that I'm a woman? ;-) I am. But maybe it's a reminder to be cautious that MY sins and bad influence can get the head of my household in trouble with God, too.
