I’m returning his gift

return to sender I’m returning his gift.
He can have it back. I don’t want it.

His gift, once unwrapped under its glitzy, golden paper of “concern” and “be prepared” and “it’s the motherly thing to do,” is plain ugly.

And, it turns out, the devil’s gift of “worry” is no gift at all.
It’s a debt.

Debt, n.
An ingenious substitute for
the chain and whip of the slave-driver
~ Ambrose Bierce (1842-1914)

And I don’t want to pay it anymore.

So instead of me being scared of his special delivery, he should be scared of mine.

Because mine is
stronger, bigger, smarter, better, sharper,
more accomplished, more equipped, more able,
more prepared, more proven, more important, more glorious,
and the most loving

And this gift is delivered in a Person:

The gift of Grace outshines the debt of worry any day.
Every day. All days.

His Grace is amazing.
Open it and see.

Wonderful, Lisa. I've never though of worry as debt, but it sure is.

Hi Lisa! You have a gift for pouring a strong shot of encouragement! Loved the metaphor because I am guilty of often returning things to the store! :) LOL. I need to do the same with worry! Thanks for jamming! I love this.
