Blessings of the week

How has God blessed you this week?

Here are five ways I’ve seen him:

1. First Aid with an attitude
Oh, the things I can now do with a bed sheet and a roll of duct tape.

Jenna and I got certified in CPR/First Aid/AED a week ago. Graham says much of first aid is attitude, baby. So if you get impaled and have a sucking chest wound around me, not to worry—you’re not allowed to die on my watch! :-) (And I know to call 911 immediately and PRAY!)

2. Praying with strangers, now friends
All three churches going to El Salvador this summer met for the first time on Saturday in Chattanooga. We shared goals and fears, and then prayed for each other. El Salvador team

When they asked for a trip photographer, guess who volunteered and is super excited? Yes, Jenna! Nandish and I volunteered to keep the trip journal. I’m excited about that. And that I’m on the VBS team!

3. Mud shoes
Not as exciting, but a blessing nonetheless are these ugly shoes. They’ve equipped me to make it to Week 11 of God in the Yard. With all the rain we’ve had, I would not have walked down to the swing by the lake as often without these lovelies. (You’re getting a bonus sneak peek here of my favorite black sweats that SO need to be thrown away. Do you have clothes like this too?) mud shoes

4. Palm Sunday Ballet
Jenna and three of her friends danced Sunday at a nearby church. I was blessed by their gift to honor God. Here’s a quick but shaky clip. (Jenna is in the yellow skirt.)

5. Heart-thief
You each have your own special fellas in your life, but I’m guessing you can make room in your heart for one more. This sweetie steals our attention every time our extended family gets together. chillin

Is he cute or what? I hope he’s making you smile too!nephew

Okay, if I'm going to get a serious injury, I'll be sure to be in your area! :) Seriously, it would be cool to learn first aid, especially how to do it without a huge kit of supplies.

That little boy is a cutie, for sure! And the plans for your El Salvador trip sound exciting!

Wishing you a blessed Easter, my friend!

I probably should get CPR training some time. I never have. It's kind of scary to me, but it's scarier not to know what to do. This will stand you in good stead in Ecuador -- even if you don't need to use it, just knowing you have it is a blessing.

How perfect that Jenna is the photographer and you're the chronicler!

Yes, I have comfy clothes that I hang on too far past their prime.

What a little cutie! I can see how he steals hearts.

You’d still be much safer NOT being in my area if you get an injury, but I could show you attitude anyway. Ha. But it was nice to get the refresher on CPR again—I learned it years ago when I used to teach aerobics classes (another lifetime!) but it’s even easier now since giving breaths is now optional.

Bonnie,
I'm thankful you share your sweet grandson with us! Could there be a more sweet-natured child? He makes us all smile. He is blessed to have you as such a big part of his life.
