He visited us anyway

And his father Zechariah was filled with the Holy Spirit
and prophesied, saying,
“Blessed be the Lord God of Israel,
for he has visited and redeemed his people.”
Luke 1:67-68

Kandie by JennaThe UPS man, the mail lady, the Jehovah’s Witnesses—they’ve all stepped up to our door within the past week. Tentatively. Slowly.

Because of the unknown.

Our dog.

Kandie stakes out our porch. If anyone comes within range, she runs to greet them. Quickly. Exuberantly.

They don’t know that she comes in peace. All she wants is to play. To be petted. To give kisses.

The closer the visitors get to the door, the more they find that out.

When Jesus came to visit us 2,000 years ago, there was no unknown. He knew exactly what to expect. Exactly what he was getting himself into.

He knew who was sitting on the porch. That we were not friendly. We were ready to attack, willing to fight.

But he came anyway. And keeps coming. Over and over.

Blessed be the Lord God for visiting his people, and
blessed be the people whom the Lord God has visited.

Very interesting perspective, Lisa. I am so thankful he came anyway.
