Unexpected gifts

gifts Don’t try to predict where a blessing will come from.

Instead live amazed at the surprises God gives you.

One week ago I was giving my testimony in my adult Bible study group. Two middle school girls lingered in the room to hear. One sat behind me, quietly, out of sight. But listening. Intently.

Shortly after our session was over, she showed me a piece of paper. While I was talking, she had been taking notes. And composing a song.

I was amazed at the gift.

Before the night was over, she had printed a copy of her lyrics and was sitting at her piano working on the melody.

I hadn’t expected it. And not from there.

But that’s the way God is. He’s unpredictable in his giving. Marvel at him.

Part of Jamie’s song, His Story

... And I’m glad to know that
I can go through this life
As long as I have my faith
Though things have left
That I regret
I can make it through
’Cause I’m not the author of this life
I’m just a part of His story

Where lately has God surprised you with a gift?

My niece stopped by unexpectedly on Saturday with her precious 7 year old daughter. I'd not seen nor heard from her since this past June.

We had a wonderful time of sharing - ooohing and aaahing at craft items they had gotten for Helena to work on.

What an unexpected gift and she stayed, not a run in and run out time at all!

This is huge for my family members!

I felt blessed beyond compare.

That is so lovely. We need to remember not to abandon our youth when we talk about our Lord. they, too, are hungry for his words.

What a nice surprise!

God is constantly surprising me with gifts through my daughters. They will say the sweetest things and cause me the best memories ... I can't help but marvel that God not only gave me them but scripted all these wonderful moments as well!
