“Before the Morning”—Then Sings My Soul Saturdays

Then Sings My Soul Saturday I’ve been seeing some dark things the past few months. But I know their purpose in the light is much bigger than anything I can envision in the dark.

This song grabbed my heart one night on one of my drives home in the dark…because I do still dare to believe that I have reason to sing, in the dark about the light. I know how it all ends.

This song also goes perfectly with a memory verse I’ve been working on lately:

17  For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison,
18  as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

2 Corinthians 4:17-18

May the glory of unseen things bless you this morning as you listen and worship the God who loves you.

LYRICS

Do you wonder why you have to
Feel the things that hurt you
If there’s a God who loves you
Where is He now

Maybe there are things you can’t see
And all those things are happening
To bring a better ending
Someday somehow you’ll see, you’ll see

CHORUS:
Would you dare, would you dare to believe
That you still have a reason to sing
‘Cause the pain that you’ve been feeling
It can’t compare to the joy that’s coming

So hold on, you gotta wait for the light
Press on and just fight the good fight
‘Cause the pain that you’ve been feeling
It’s just the dark before the morning

My friend, you know how this all ends
You know where you’re going
You just don’t know how you’ll get there
So say a prayer

And hold on
‘Cause there’s good for those who love God
But life is not a snapshot
It might take a little time but you’ll see the bigger picture

CHORUS

Once you feel the weight of glory
All your pain will fade to memory
Once you feel the weight of glory
All your pain will fade to memory

CHORUS

Oh, the pain that you’ve been feeling
It’s just the dark before the morning

I don't think I've ever heard this one. But I love the words to it. No matter what we go through the "SON" will shine through for us.

Blessings and thanks Lisa...I needed this encouragement! So thankful that we know how it ends...great insights to lead us into this song...it's new to me and also Josh Wilson!

I love many parts of what you share and also the books in your spring challenge but this struck me first:

"I know their purpose in the light is much bigger than anything I can envision in the dark."

Holding on to the hope we have in Christ! Thanks!
Peggy

This was a new song for me Lisa. The words were so good though. I'm holding on, that's for sure.

Blessings and love,
Debbie
