Corners – Corner View

Jane’s theme for this week is: corners of your home. So be nosy and link into corners all around the world at Spain Daily.

In my house, corners are where things get shoved, or temporarily housed, or forgotten. I can dig them out physically when necessary.

But spiritually? Are there things hiding in the corners of my heart that need digging out? Things I don’t want to think about, or don’t want to deal with just yet, or things that are just in the way and need a good push?

I realize that pushing things into the corner isn’t a good way to keep house, physically or spiritually. Maybe I need to get out the duster and garbage can and do a little work in both areas…

Corner of kitchen Kitchen Corner

We inherited this Fiddle Leaf Fig plant from Jeff’s grandparents when they traded houses in the early 1990’s. Granny and Granddad had the greenest thumbs ever. So we’ve done our best to keep their memory alive by keeping this plant alive.

But it has outgrown its location. So we keep shoving it into this corner. It still pokes people as they pass by or when they sit at the kitchen table. But for now, it stays.

Laundry Room Corner

I don’t know where to put these things. So they end up in this corner cemetery. Pots not being used; oven cleaner; plant food; carpet cleaner. Should I make a decision to either use this stuff or get rid of it? Yes!

Odds and ends Christmas decorations ended up here this year. At least there’s a little theme, but sometimes when I don’t know what else to do with things, I put them together until later. I’ll decide later. Yeah, later.

Garage CornerCorner of the garage

This one is almost functional. The tools anyway. The clutter on the shelves? That’s a different story. Definitely could use some purging.

What is hiding in the corners of your house?

What do you do with stuff you don’t know what to do with? Physically, emotionally, spiritually? Toss it, hoard it, shelve it? Think about it…

Great thoughts! Love the thought of thinking about what is hiding in the corners of my house (scary thought!) and what is hiding in the corners of my spiritual house. Both are not really pretty......

I love that plant and I just moved (3 days ago) so no hiding corners yet. Everything bang in the middle of rooms still in boxes! :)

This was a tough one for me. Some of my corners are um, scary. I really do not like looking in them. Sigh. But they still need cleaning out. House and heart. As for things that I don't know what to do with? Um, will your next post be on what hides underneath the bed?

Double eeeek!
