Are you my prophet?

2 Chronicles 24:19

Yet he sent prophets among them to bring them back to the LORD. These testified against them, but they would not pay attention.

God is so patient with me. He is the God of 2nd, 3rd, 4th,...chances. Always finding ways to turn my head to look at him. Am I looking? Am I paying attention to those he sends to me?

Faces pop up in my mind-- friends who have been prophets to me. They’ve warned me of dangerous pitfalls; they’ve encouraged a straight walk; they’ve focused on God themselves. Keep sending them, Lord.

2 Chronicles 25:8
But go, act, be strong for the battle. Why should you suppose that God will cast you down before the enemy? For God has power to help or to cast down.

God authored “Just do it” long before Nike thought of it. Why do I think God would ever want anything less than victory for me? Go for it—God has the power to succeed in whatever he’s asking me to do.

2 Chronicles 25:15
Therefore the LORD was angry with Amaziah and sent to him a prophet, who said to him, "Why have you sought the gods of a people who did not deliver their own people from your hand?"

In other words, how stupid can you be? Why would you follow a god that your own army defeated?

Lord, help me pay attention to what works and what doesn’t, for you reveal yourself to me in multiple ways—through friends, through successes, and through failures. Again, eyes wide open...
